Jekyll Island Beach Weddings And What You Need To Know

    permitting or insurance riders may be  required.

  • Client is responsible for all permit fees, and park entrance fees. We are happy to assist in obtaining permits.
  • The Travel Fee will be assessed for both the rehearsal and ceremony if applicable. 
  • ** Additional Fees may apply for ceremonies falling on HOLIDAY weekends








There is no fee or permit required to have your own beach wedding at any of the public City beach accesses on Jekyll Island. 


Vehicle entry onto Jekyll Island requires a valid parking pass which must be purchased at the entry gate or Guest Information Center upon arrival on the island. This pass gives you access to many of the island’s public outdoor areas, including picnic areas, beach parking and access points, playground, soccer complex, historic landmark district, fishing pier, bicycle and nature trails and more. The Parking Fee is charged per vehicle per day. Multi-day and annual passes are available. Bicycles and pedestrians can enter at no charge.

Daily Pass $6 – Valid for 24 hours from time of purchase
Weekly Pass $28 – Valid for 7 consecutive days from time of purchase​


Marriage licenses are obtained by applying for one at a county probate court. If either you or your spouse-to-be is a resident of Georgia, then you may apply for the license in any county, regardless of where in the state the wedding will take place. However, if neither party is a Georgia resident, then you must apply for the license in the county where the wedding will occur. Both the bride and groom must apply together and in person at the county probate court for the license.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all who visit Jekyll Island, please follow these guidelines:

  • In case of an emergency dial 911. Inform the dispatcher that you are on Jekyll Island. Barrier Island signals tend to drift and 911 calls may be answered in Glynn or Camden counties.
  • Location is vital to emergency responders. Take note of your surroundings and location. Beach crossovers are numbered for your safety.
  • When you visit Jekyll Island, you are a guest in this wild habitat. Treat all wildlife with respect. Feeding, harassing, approaching, injuring or removing any wildlife, including alligators, deer, turtles, raccoons, birds, and snakes is prohibited by law.
  • If you encounter an injured, sick or dead animal do not attempt to handle or assist it, please call for Wildlife Assistance.
  • No fishing or swimming in freshwater lakes or ponds.
  • Use caution on sandbars as they can be covered by as much as 10’ of water at high tide.
  • Golf carts must have a braking system, reflectors, horn, rear view mirror, seat belts and hand holds for each passenger.
  • No golf carts on bike paths.
  • Bikes should be ridden on the bike paths.
  • Bike helmets are required for riders age 16 & younger.
  • When riding on bike paths, bicyclists must remain single-file.
  • No vehicles on the beach.
  • ATVs are not allowed anywhere per Georgia State Law.
  • No fires on the beach.
  • No glass containers on the beach.
  • Stay off dunes.
  • Only take home empty shells and dead sand dollars.
  • Stay away from marked turtle nests.
  • Fill in sand castles and holes on the beach.
  • Pets must be under immediate control of their owners and on a leash no longer than 16’ at all times.
  • No pets allowed on South Beach between South Dunes Picnic Area and 2,000′ northeast of St. Andrews Sound Picnic Area.
  • Pet owners are to remove and dispose of pet fecal material.
  • Metal or mineral detection devices are prohibited.
  • No fireworks unless permitted.
  • No overnight parking in public areas.
  • Lock all cars and secure belongings.
